Rocks- Metamorphic, Sedimentary and Igneous (#3 Educationally Relevant Image)

If I were teaching elementary students about the different kinds of rocks: metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous; I would use this image because it shows where many of the sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks are located on Earth. I would describe what each kind of rock is and where they form on the Earth. This website allows viewers to click on the names of the different kinds of rocks and view information about those kinds of rocks.

Scavenger Hunt- Film Animation ~1900-1921

For the scavenger hunt, I chose images of various animation cartoons in America from 1900- 1921. There are 11 stills of early animation from the early twentieth century America. These images include animals, men and women, children, African Americans and dinosaurs. Clay, puppet, pen drawings and cut out animation are incorporated into these early animations and were very popular in the 1900s. These images all have important connections to the early twentieth century. They are tied to early newspaper comic strips and animated films. The images depict the development of early animation and showcase the advancing technology of animation. They also reveal the social attitudes of the early twentieth century and the effect those attitudes had on society. Besides the animation images, there are detailed descriptions and summaries of each individual animation, as well as information on the creator and how the cartoon got created; provided on the website. Here is a link to the website I used for my scavenger hunt.

Here an early animation cartoon from 100-1921.

Hello world! Introduction

Hi my name is Kelsey and I a sophomore at a college in Oregon. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii because my dad was in the Navy and he was stationed there at the time. When I was two years old my family and I moved to Colorado, where I grew up. I have one sister that is a junior in high school and she wants to play softball at a D2 school after she graduates. My dad works at a university in Colorado and my mom is an accountant in Denver. I decided to attend school in Oregon because my dad's family lives here and every time my family and I would visit them, I fell in love with Oregon more and more. I love the weather and how beautiful and green it is here. At school, right now I am a pre-education major, I am applying to be an education major and I will find out in February if I got into the education school. I want to either teach second or third graders because I love kids and they are always so sweet at that age. After four years in Oregon, I plan to go back to Colorado to live, work and attend graduate school.
My hobbies include softball, snowboarding, surfing, hiking, traveling, reading and going to the movies with friends. I am very active and love doing anything outdoors. I have been playing softball for ten years and I am on the club team at my school. I play outfield, but left field and center field are my favorite positions. I have been snowboarding for about eight years now and I love snowboarding in Colorado because we have great powder and great mountains! I have only been snowboarding twice in Oregon and I want to go more. When I leave college, I want to travel to many countries. My top countries are Italy, France, Australia, Greece, Russia and New Zealand. I love experiencing new cultures and trying new food!
That is me in a nutshell. I am excited to start blogging and I hope everyone enjoys reading my blog!
This is the second time I have blogged, I am very excited. I hope everyone enjoys reading my blog and I am very excited to be writing my blog.
